You could check out http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/. There's lessons, tabs, columns etc. there that could really help your playing and techniques. I have myself learned a lot from there.

And if you have friends who also play the guitar, you could ask them to give you some advice and maybe learn you something in person? Almost lika a free guitar teacher.
